Singing in the Rain

The singing in the rain scenes in the original Singing in the Rain (1952) and A Clockwork Orange (1971) are vastly different. I believe that A Clockwork Orange is making a comparison of how much movies have progressed over the 20 year span between the two. During the time that Singing in the Rain was created, film was only portrayed with happy thoughts. A Clockwork Orange shows how film no longer had to be censored and crime could be shown.
